Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, a proactive AI agent designed to automate business tasks across more than 6,000 connected applications. Powered by Claude Opus 5.5, it monitors workplace tools, identifies priorities, provides daily summaries, and moves tasks forward in the background. Duet connects services such as Slack, Gmail, HubSpot, and QuickBooks to simplify administrative work, financial tasks, and marketing activities.
However, sensitive actions, such as sending emails and processing payments, still require human approval. The system can also misjudge urgency or misunderstand conversations. Duet is initially available as a research preview with a waitlist for US subscribers on the Pro and Max plans, highlighting the need for careful oversight of reliability, permissions, and control.
