Anthropic has introduced a new AI tool called Cowork. It is designed to make advanced AI agent-style features more accessible to everyday users. Cowork is integrated into the Claude desktop app and builds on the company’s previous coding agent, but simplifies it for general productivity tasks.
Users can grant Claude access to specific local folders so that the AI can read, edit, and create files on its own. It also enables the execution of multi-step tasks. The tool is initially available as a research preview for Claude Max subscribers on macOS. The goal is to facilitate workflows such as file organization, report generation, or automation without programming knowledge. A Windows version is in the works.
