Anthropic has released Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1, updated versions of its most capable AI models. The new Fable is designed to reduce token costs and offer greater flexibility. It should also reduce unnecessary safety restrictions that mistakenly flag harmless requests as dangerous and reject them. Fable 5.1 is available through cloud platforms and Anthropic’s API, while Mythos 5.1 remains limited to selected partners in cybersecurity and the life sciences.
Anthropic is also introducing full data deletion capabilities, allowing customers to run models on their own infrastructure without data leaving the environment. A new high-privacy service is expected later this year. Misuse by agents or human users will continue to be monitored, but customers will determine how that monitoring is carried out.
