Since 2015, China has been pursuing a nationwide strategy to become a global leader in humanoid robotics. With strong government support, targeted funding, and regional competition, progress has accelerated significantly. The range of applications is expanding rapidly—from industry and healthcare to eldercare. Major tech and electric vehicle companies are leveraging existing technologies like sensors, AI chips, and production systems to speed up the development of humanoid robots.

While industrial robots are already widely used, humanoid robotics is now quickly catching up. Through AI integration, research, and state backing, China aims to take the global lead in „embodied intelligence“ by 2030.
