France plans to gradually replace the data analytics and AI solutions of U.S. company Palantir with technologies developed by French software provider ChapsVision. The government aims to strengthen its digital sovereignty and reduce dependence on foreign technology providers. Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu emphasized that critical government and intelligence systems should rely on domestic AI capabilities.
The transition is expected to take several years and will affect, among others, France’s domestic intelligence services. At the same time, France is investing €655 million in AI infrastructure, research, public-sector applications, and government chatbots. Through these initiatives, the country aims to further strengthen its position as a leading hub for European AI innovation.
