A leaked video reveals Microsoft’s experimental “Project Aion,” an AI-focused Windows concept built around Copilot. The prototype replaces the traditional Start menu and app-centric interface with a web-based system built on a lightweight Windows core and Microsoft Edge. Instead of relying on local applications, it emphasizes web apps and cloud streaming via Windows 365 to enable full access to desktop software.
A key feature called “Spaces” uses AI to group tasks, apps, and content into goal-oriented workflows. Although the project may never reach the market, it highlights Microsoft’s direction toward deeply integrated, agent-driven computing, where AI becomes the primary interface for everyday PC use.
