Several leading technology and retail companies, including Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and OpenAI, have joined a voluntary industry agreement to combat online fraud and scams. The goal is to strengthen collaboration in addressing the rise of online crime. Announced ahead of the UN Global Fraud Summit in Austria, the initiative aims to share threat intelligence, improve fraud detection, and enhance defenses across key platforms.
Participants also plan to work with governments, law enforcement, and NGOs to expand user protection. While the agreement is voluntary and carries no penalties, it signals a clear industry commitment to tackling cross-platform scams.
