French company Mistral AI has announced its first acquisition with the purchase of Paris-based cloud startup Koyeb. With this move, Mistral is expanding its focus beyond pure model development toward building a broader AI infrastructure. Koyeb’s serverless platform will be integrated into “Mistral Compute” to improve on-premises deployments, GPU utilization, and scalable AI inference for enterprise customers.
Koyeb’s team and technology will be directly integrated into Mistral’s engineering operations. The acquisition strengthens Mistral’s ambition to build an independent, European-focused AI cloud capable of competing with major U.S. providers and meeting the growing demands of enterprise clients.
