OpenAI is developing an AI-powered hiring platform called the OpenAI Jobs Platform, launching mid-2026 to directly compete with LinkedIn. The service will use artificial intelligence to match businesses with workers, creating what CEO of Applications Fidji Simo describes as „perfect matches between what companies need and what workers can offer.“
The platform will feature a dedicated track for small businesses and local governments seeking top AI talent. This expansion represents OpenAI’s strategic move beyond ChatGPT into new markets, potentially including browsers and social media apps. Notably, the initiative creates competition with LinkedIn, co-founded by Reid Hoffman, one of OpenAI’s earliest investors.
Complementing the platform, OpenAI will launch certification programs through OpenAI Academy, partnering with Walmart to certify 10 million Americans by 2030. The company aims to help workers develop AI fluency as traditional jobs face disruption.
