OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Astra, describing it as its most capable and best-aligned AI model to date. Astra shows significant advances in professional computer use, software development, research, and cybersecurity. Its capabilities in the cyber field are particularly noteworthy. According to OpenAI, the model can identify previously unknown security vulnerabilities and develop so-called exploits without detailed human guidance. In other words, it can deliberately exploit vulnerabilities in computer systems.

Because of these risks, OpenAI is rolling out Astra in a controlled manner, with increased monitoring, additional safeguards, and restricted access to advanced cyber capabilities. The model will gradually become available to paying ChatGPT users, businesses, and API customers.
