Artificial intelligence has brought a legendary moment in football history back to life. Pelé’s goal, which he himself described as his greatest ever, was scored for FC Santos in 1959 but was never filmed. For decades, only eyewitness memories remained. Now, Google DeepMind, using models such as Gemini Omni and Veo 3 and supported by the Pelé Brand, has reconstructed the iconic goal through historical research and accounts from witnesses, family members, and football experts.

The newly created footage shows the famous “Gol da Rua Javari” and will be featured in a mini-documentary. The project aims to preserve Pelé’s legacy and demonstrate how AI can restore lost parts of history, especially in sports.
