Perplexity has enhanced its AI browser “Comet.” The AI now has improved multitasking capabilities, allowing it to work across multiple browser tabs and apps simultaneously while handling complex, multi-step online tasks more efficiently. The update gives Comet a longer attention span and sharper web awareness. Additionally, a permission system has been introduced to ensure that users approve any action before the AI clicks links or fills out forms.
Internal tests show a 23% higher task completion rate compared to the previous version. Comet now acts as a reliable background assistant, simplifying online work such as research and data entry. It offers a practical alternative to emerging autonomous AI browsers like Opera Neon or OpenAI’s Atlas.
