Chinese robotaxi company Pony.ai and automaker Stellantis have announced a partnership to test autonomous taxis in Europe. The tests are set to begin in the coming months in Luxembourg. Stellantis will provide electric vehicles – starting with the Peugeot e-Traveller – while Pony.ai will supply the self-driving software.
A gradual rollout to other European cities is planned for next year. The move is part of a broader global effort to expand robotaxi services beyond China and the U.S. Waymo also announced this week that it will begin testing in London. The goal is to build a safety track record for regulatory approval.
