The Swiss financial sector is closely watching Anthropic’s powerful AI model Mythos, but does not yet see it as an immediate crisis. Mythos can reportedly detect unknown software bugs quickly. This could strengthen cyber defense, but also help attackers abuse financial systems. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority warns that uncontrolled access could become a systemic risk.
For now, access through Project Glasswing is limited to selected organizations such as AWS, Microsoft, Nvidia, Linux, and JP Morgan. Switzerland’s banking sector considers its existing cybersecurity structures sufficient. However, regulators warn that AI will accelerate cyber threats and that Europe risks falling behind U.S.-led efforts in AI security.
