Berlin instead of Zurich for AI startup
Adrian Locher, founder of the AI venture studio Merantix, deliberately chose Berlin over Zurich when building his company, seeing it as a better environment for an AI ecosystem.
Parloa triples valuation
Berlin-based AI start-up Parloa has raised $350 million in a financing round, tripling its valuation to $3 billion in less than a year. The round was led by General Catalyst, with additional support from existing investors.
n8n reaches $2.5 billion valuation
Berlin-based AI startup n8n has raised $180 million in a funding round led by Accel, with Nvidia’s investment arm NVentures also participating. This brings the company’s valuation to $2.5 billion – seven times higher than in March 2025.
Zhipu launches Open-Source AI Model
Chinese AI startup Zhipu has released its open-source model GLM-4.5, designed for use in intelligent agent systems. Zhipu is considered one of China’s so-called “AI tigers” and is backed by local government support.
