Economist Robert Seamans believes that future AI jobs will primarily require people who understand artificial intelligence but can also explain it in a way that is understandable to non-specialists. AI will become as ubiquitous as the internet and will change almost all professions, albeit in different ways. Employees who can use generative AI to increase productivity, test systems and train models will benefit in particular.
Seamans expects new roles such as ‘AI explainers’, AI auditors to check for bias and errors, and trainers to educate employees. He advises employees and students to experiment with AI and try it out in different ways.
