The Estonian mobility provider Bolt is partnering with the Chinese company Pony.ai to introduce Level 4 self-driving vehicles in Europe. The collaboration will initially focus on real-world testing, safety validation, and user experience before launching fully driverless services. Early deployments are planned for cities across EU member states as well as other European countries, though no timeline has been announced.
As Chinese autonomous vehicle companies face restrictions in the U.S., they are accelerating their expansion into Europe. Pony.ai already operates fully driverless robotaxi services in major Chinese cities. The partnership follows similar moves by Uber with Momenta and Lyft with Baidu.
