In key performance indicators, the two countries are already nearly on par. The report finds that only minor differences remain, especially among leading AI models.

China is also gaining ground in research output, patents, and the large-scale deployment of AI technologies. The United States, however, still leads in private investment and the number of top-tier models. Overall, the report suggests that the global AI race has become highly competitive, with both countries now shaping the future of AI development almost equally.
