Leo is an AI assistant built into the Brave browser that places a strong emphasis on privacy while offering many typical AI features. Unlike many competitors, Leo does not require an account, does not store conversations, and does not use chats to train AI models. The assistant can summarize websites, translate content, analyze documents, create texts, and help with programming.

Users can choose between different AI models or integrate their own models through the “Bring Your Own Model” feature. While some advanced functions, such as long-term memory or extensive API integrations, are still missing, Leo stands out among privacy-conscious users thanks to its strong focus on data protection and security.
