The debate around artificial intelligence often swings between two extremes. AI could transform our society for the better or become an uncontrollable threat. Increasingly powerful systems offer enormous opportunities for work, science, healthcare, and everyday life. At the same time, concerns are growing about disinformation, discrimination, data privacy, job losses, and the loss of human autonomy.

What matters is finding a balanced approach to the technology. Neither blind optimism nor excessive pessimism will get us very far. What we need is responsible development, effective regulation, and strong human oversight. At the same time, we need to strengthen media literacy and ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence are accessible to everyone.
